CLIFF WALK

The Cliff Walk along the eastern shore of Newport is world famous as a public access walk that combines the natural beauty of the shoreline with the architectural history of Newport's gilded age. It starts at the start of 1st Beach and Memorial Blvd.

FORT ADAMS STATE PARK

Fort Adams State Park is a public recreation and historic area preserving Fort Adams, a large coastal fortification located at the harbor mouth in Newport that was active from 1841 through the first half of the 20th century. The state park hosts the annual Newport Jazz Festival, Newport Folk Festival and is the home of Sail Newport and Eisenhower House.

TEN MILE DRIVE AND OCEAN DRIVE

"Ten Mile Drive" combines a historical stretch of summer homes with a fabulous recreational treasure of public parks and miles of public access shoreline. It has four legs: Brenton Cove Shore, East Passage of Narragansett Bay, Ocean Drive, and Bellevue Ave. The best way to do the drive is starting at Thames Street as you are driving on the water side of the road and drive around to end on Bellevue Ave. going north.
